NemoSens® is a compact, lightweight micro-AUV (under 1 m long, ~10 kg including payload) designed for scientific, industrial, and defense applications. Easy for a single person to deploy, recover, and maintain, it's built on an open Linux architecture programmable via ROS or MOOS interfaces, giving operators flexibility to add software functions and swap measurement sensors on demand (within a ~2 kg payload limit). It's rated to 300 m depth, runs at 2–10 knots, and offers up to 8–10 hours of endurance depending on speed. Acoustic communication provides real-time tracking of the vehicle's position, depth, pitch, and roll, and multiple NemoSens units can operate together in a swarm (10+) using surface acoustic beacons for repositioning and extended mission coverage. Available payloads include side-scan sonar, CTD probes, and sensors for oxygen, temperature, turbidity, and hydrocarbons. It's also compatible with RTsys' broader product range, including SonaDive diver-held systems and positioning/relay beacons, making it a natural extension of an existing SonaDive/SonaBlow/Comet-MCM/SEMA MCM ecosystem. Applications span seabed imagery, environmental monitoring, wreckage localization, acoustic monitoring, and UXO detection (relevant to offshore wind farm site surveys).
