RTsys Comet-MCM (AUV)
arrow_backTo the overviewComet-MCM is a 300 m-rated autonomous underwater vehicle purpose-built for detection, localization, and classification of underwater mines over large areas in limited time, operating at 3–10 knots. It uses an acoustic communication and positioning system based on LBL (long baseline) algorithms for accurate navigation over missions up to 20 hours long, and carries an integrated side-scan sonar and camera to precisely geo-locate field data during the mission. Comet-MCM can operate as a standalone system, in a coordinated fleet (SWARM), or combined with SonaDive for a full manned-unmanned MCM ecosystem, giving navies a modular, flexible tool for mine warfare.
