RTsys SonaDive MCM (Diver-held sonar and navigation system)
arrow_backTo the overviewSonaDive is a diver-held sonar and navigation system built for EOD (explosive ordnance disposal) divers and special forces conducting mine countermeasure (MCM) operations. It pairs a forward-looking multibeam sonar (BlueView, 450 kHz or 900/2250 kHz) with an HD camera for target detection, and a full navigation suite — INS, DVL, pressure sensor, and deployable floating GPS — accurate to under 5 m regardless of distance covered. Divers can exchange text messages, position, and navigation data acoustically with each other and the surface, out to 2 km (extendable to 5 km with a relay beacon). It has a 12" backlit display visible in all water conditions, the lowest magnetism on the market, hot-swappable batteries (6-hour endurance, extendable underwater), and is rated to 100 m depth. Applications beyond EOD include search & recovery, homeland security body searches, beach profiling, infrastructure/pipe/cable inspection, and underwater archaeology.
