Boson Systems - modular analogue night vision

arrow_backTo the overview

TacDane ApS

Boson Systems builds night vision devices without electronics. The Proton Lite is a modular binocular night vision goggle machined from 7075-T6 aluminium with Type III hardcoat anodising. There is no circuit board, no software and no menu. Each optical pod is sealed and nitrogen-purged separately, and the unit can be stripped and serviced in the field with a screwdriver.

The Proton Lite weighs around 545 grams and runs for approximately 25 hours on a single CR123A battery at room temperature. Field of view is 40 degrees ±2. The monocular Proton Lite-O weighs around 270 grams and runs approximately 40 hours on the same battery, with the same field of view. Both are rated IP68 by the manufacturer with a stated submersion depth of 20 metres for up to two hours. Boson Systems states that the Proton Lite platform is certified to MIL-STD-810H.

The platform includes Electron X, a universal external battery adapter, and Eliminator, a power connector that replaces the battery cap. Image intensifier tubes are sold separately, so the configuration can be matched to tube and task.

Boson Systems is French and based in La Courneuve north of Paris.

Boson Systems is exhibiting on the TacDane stand and describes TacDane as its Danish partner. Takami Nakamoto and Benjamin Alardin are at the stand.
