B&T AG - Swiss weapon systems and sound suppressors
arrow_backTo the overviewB&T AG builds weapon systems and sound suppressors in Thun, Switzerland. The company was founded in May 1991 by Karl Brügger and Heinrich Thomet and spent its first years making suppressors. The firearms came later. Both weapons and suppressors are produced in-house.
The core programme is the APC series: modular submachine guns and carbines. It comes in the pistol calibres 9mm, 10mm, .40 and .45, and in 5.56x45. The SPC carbines are also available in 5.56x45. In 2019 the APC9K was selected in the U.S. Army's Sub Compact Weapon programme ahead of SIG Sauer among others. It was the first time in more than 50 years that the U.S. Army procured a submachine gun. The weapon was intended for the security teams that protect staff officers.
Beyond the APC series the programme covers the GHM9 carbine, the MP9/TP9 platform, the SPC carbines, the SPR300 and Station SIX for low sound signature, and the GL06, a single-shot 40mm launcher developed specifically for less-lethal police work. The suppressor lines cover pistol, rifle, submachine gun and precision rifle under the names Rotex, Impuls, PRINT-X, RBS and M.A.R.S.
B&T states that production of complete weapon systems, suppressors and accessories takes place in-house at the Thun facility, and that the company is certified to ISO 9001, 14001, 27001 and 45001.
