This is the standard NATO type of flare decoy arget, in which the product consists of an aluminum cartridge. The projectile includes a pyrotechnic generator with a set wavelength and with a built-in ignition system. The orifice of the cartridge is covered by a cap. Initiation takes place via a primer placed into the bottom of the cartridge case.
