GICAN

The GICAN is the professional organization bringing together French industrial and services companies of the shipbuilding and maritime sector. GICAN and SOGENA organize two international trade shows in the naval defense - EURONAVAL - and civil maritime - EUROMARITIME - sectors, and federate the “Pavillons France” at some international exhibitions.
The GICAN, is a major component of the Maritime Industrial Sector, that brings together more than 320 companies in the naval industry: shipyards, systems, integrators, equipment manufacturers, design offices and engineering and service companies, which work on the design, the manufacture, the maintenance, the modernization, the dismantling and the deconstruction of ships, submarines, drones, aero-maritime, marine renewable energy and systems and equipment related to the exploration of the oceans.
The French naval and maritime industry is renowned for its world-class products, technologies and know-how. From combat and supply ships, cruise ships and submarines, ferries and service ships to Marine Renewable Energies and autonomous maritime systems, this industry designs high added value vessels and services. Around 89% of its civil and 39% of its defense production is exported.
