Danske Maritime

Danish Maritime is the business association for the Danish maritime industry, bringing together nearly 200 companies that develop, produce and service ships and advanced maritime solutions for both civil and military applications.

We represent an industry with strong roots and global reach, where innovation, technology and exports go hand in hand.

Our role is to strengthen the framework conditions for our member companies, ensure access to skilled labour and bring the industry into the political decision-making arenas where future solutions are shaped.

The Danish maritime industry is one of Denmark’s key industrial strengths. It spans shipyards, design houses, equipment manufacturers and digital specialists, forming a closely integrated ecosystem.

Companies deliver advanced technologies in areas such as energy-efficient operations, green transition, automation and cybersecurity. Danish solutions are in operation on ships worldwide and actively contribute to making global shipping more sustainable and efficient.

At the same time, the industry is playing an increasingly important role in relation to defence. Rising geopolitical tensions and a more complex threat landscape have underlined the need for a modern and robust navy.

Danish companies contribute with design, equipment, systems and maintenance that strengthen both operational capabilities and security of supply. The interaction between civil and military development is growing, and Danish maritime competences are central to building the fleet of the future, including new patrol vessels, surveillance capabilities and autonomous units.
