M23 Srl, based in Ciserano (Bergamo), has been operating for over thirty years in the field of engineering, design, and manufacturing of advanced underwater platforms and hyperbaric systems, with a particular specialization in the development of next-generation "Midget Submarines" intended for naval use and special operations. The company owns dedicated facilities in Italy for design, development, production and testing, which allow to internally manage a significant portion of the critical systems and subsystems of the platforms, ensuring high quality standards, rapid development, and industrial flexibility. The Midget Submarines developed by M23 Srl are conceived as multi-role underwater platforms with a high level of operational discretion, suitable to support various types of missions in the underwater and maritime domain, including:
• Operations in support of Special Forces.
• Underwater surveillance and reconnaissance
• Protection of critical underwater infrastructures and activities in the Seabed Warfare domain, also with the use of "Heavy Weight Torpedoes" such as those already in service with the Italian Navy
• Patrolling and monitoring of sensitive maritime areas, including in shallow or very shallow waters
• Laying of sea mines, including those currently in service with the Italian Navy
• Crew training and support for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) activities.
Thanks to their modularity, sensor integration capabilities, and reduced operational signature, these platforms can constitute a particularly effective tool for advanced underwater missions, offering greater deployment flexibility compared to larger conventional underwater solutions.
