SOLGW MK1 - the rifle U.S. Special Operations Command selected
arrow_backTo the overviewOn 20 November 2025 U.S. Special Operations Command selected the MK1 under the Combat Assault Rifle programme. The variant is select-fire with an 11.5" barrel, and it got there through trials in heat, cold, dust, mud, salt fog and submersion.
This is a rifle built by a manufacturer that makes its own parts. Barrels, bolt carrier groups and receivers are machined in-house in San Antonio, Texas. Every bolt is Carpenter 158 steel and goes through MPI and HPT, magnetic particle inspection and proof testing.
Barrel in 11.5", 14.5" or 16", 1/7 twist, 4150 chrome lined or 416R stainless. Muzzle thread 5/8x24. Rail in 10.75", 13.75" or 15". Intermediate length A5H2 buffer. Liberty two-stage trigger at 4.5 lb. Ambidextrous charging handle and safety. Billet aluminium receivers, hard coat anodised in black or grey.
SOLGW gives an unlimited lifetime warranty, and it covers wear. If a civilian owner shoots the barrel out, it gets replaced, and the warranty applies worldwide. The scheme is written for the individual owner, so agency purchases with high annual round counts are agreed separately.
TacDane represents Sons of Liberty Gun Works in Denmark. The MK1 is at stand U 2324.
