Sons of Liberty Gun Works - US AR-platform rifles
arrow_backTo the overviewSons of Liberty Gun Works builds AR-platform rifles in San Antonio, Texas, and machines barrels, bolt carrier groups and receivers in-house.
On 20 November 2025 U.S. Special Operations Command selected a select-fire variant of the MK1 with an 11.5" barrel under the Combat Assault Rifle programme. The trials covered heat, cold, dust, mud, salt fog and submersion. Fielding begins gradually in 2026, and the MK1 does not replace the M4A1.
In March 2025 SOLGW announced an agreement to supply duty rifles to the SWAT unit at the Bexar County Sheriff's Office in Texas.
The receivers are machined from 7075-T6 aluminium, the barrels in 41V50 chrome-moly-vanadium with a chrome-lined bore or in stainless steel, and the bolts in Carpenter 158 steel, magnetic-particle inspected and proof tested. All of it documented at product level. On complete rifles SOLGW gives a lifetime warranty covering normal wear parts such as barrel, gas rings and furniture.
Beyond the MK1, the line-up covers the L89 and EXO3 series plus two collaboration rifles: the OB1 with instructor Christian Craighead and the SAGE with Sage Dynamics.
TacDane represents Sons of Liberty Gun Works in Denmark. The rifles are on stand U 2324.
