A high-speed TAF Kolibri-i10 interceptor drone was developed, combat-tested, codified, and launched into serial production to strengthen Ukraine's layered air defense against enemy UAVs.
Challenge:
Counter the growing threat posed by Russian reconnaissance and loitering munitions with a dedicated, high-speed interceptor capable of operating in contested electronic warfare environments. The solution needed to move rapidly from battlefield feedback to an operational, scalable product.
Solution:
Rather than modifying an existing FPV platform, TAF Industries designed a purpose-built interceptor based on operational lessons learned from using the FPV Kolibri 10” in drone interception missions. The new platform features a reinforced airframe, more powerful motors, optimized aerodynamics, high-speed propellers, digital day-and-night cameras, and MilELRS firmware for reliable performance under heavy electronic warfare conditions. The system was tested in real combat conditions and launched into serial production.
Result:
The TAF Kolibri-i10 is now officially codified by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine and available for procurement, providing Ukrainian forces with an effective capability to intercept Russian reconnaissance and attack UAVs, including Molniya, Orlan, and Zala. The platform delivers speeds over 200 km/h, a range of up to 25 km, an endurance of more than 20 minutes, and an operational ceiling of 3,000 m, strengthening the protection of critical infrastructure, airspace, and frontline positions.
